  • Backpack & Boots/Hiking Shoes - we plan to carry all of our gear over 10 miles during this trip - so plan accordingly (There may be some creek crossings)

Event Description:

<Open for First Class Scouts 13 Years and older>

This one night backpacking campout will be in Farmdale reservoir. This unique event is being made possible by Ranger Todd and you will be some of the first scouts to backcountry camp in Farmdale in 20 years!

We will be hiking 6-8 miles to get to our campsite, clearing the site to camp, and building a fire pit. We will pack in all the food and water we need and pack out our waste. We will high out about 4 miles on Sunday. We will do a gear check before we leave and also share out troop gear to spread the load.

We will use backcountry bathroom use practices so we will be teaching scouts to dig catholes.
