Event Cost: $40 + Food/snacks and souvenirs. Fuel cost determined after event.
Dress: Field Uniform & Activity Uniform (Scout T-Shirt)
Items to Bring:
Field Uniform to be worn while traveling
Complete change of clothes, including shoes - you will get muddy and maybe a little wet when exploring
Coat - even if it is warm outside, it is only 52 degrees in the cavern!
Warm sleeping bag (52 degrees, remember?), small pillow
Handtowel and plastic bag to put wet/muddy clothes in
Weather related items (rain gear, coat, etc.)
Water bottle/canteen

There is limited space, so only the following personal gear should be brought along: * Flashlight/headlamp & extra batteries * Old clothing & boots/sneakers for wild caving * Change of warm clothing & shoes * Warm sleeping bag and optional pillow (NO air beds, air mattresses, cots, or ground cloths) * Hand towel, warm coat, & plastic bag for clothes * Any necessary personal items & medication * Sack lunch for Saturday while traveling (not messy) * Money to stop for dinner on Saturday, lunch on Sunday, snacks at the "Cave Inn", and/or souvenirs & patches at the Visitor Center
Event Description: This is a great opportunity to sleep overnight in a cave, go exploring, and did we mention SLEEP OVERNIGHT in a cave? This will be a fun Troop outing to learn new things. Some of the cool things we'll get to do:
hour-long boat tour on America's longest underground river
hour-long guided exploration trip (will get muddy and maybe little wet) walking, climbing, and crawling through natural passages that normal tours don't get to see
educational session on caves and caving
stay overnight in cavern in bunks
even breakfast underground!
Cost for the underground overnight camping is $40 / person, plus food for the event. Fuel costs determined after event.
