We have decided to lead a high adventure troop trip to experience Trek 1 at Swamp Base in Louisiana next summer. Our own Ian Phillips worked at the camp this summer, and had only great things to say about it. Instead of telling you all what it is about, I've decided to let you guys do some exploring on your own. I have attached a link to the trek 1 information below.
Here are some things you should know:
The drive is about 13 hours without stops, we will need to stay overnight on our way there and back.
We will leave July 4th, and come home on July 12th. (The official trek is from the 5th to the 11th.
We will canoe 61.6 miles over the course of 5 days.
We will do lots of fun activities such as fishing, casting nets, clamming, and carving.
The Trek cost will be $650-$700 depending on the number of participants. There will be additional costs for food, fuel, and lodging on the way there and back. We are currently working on these details.
We need to know who will be attending by September 28th. At which time a $250 non-refundable payment will be required.
Only adults registered with the BSA can join this Trek.
We can take 1-2 crews, with 8-11 participants per crew, we need a minimum of 2 adult leaders per crew. When we meet our adult leader requirements, the remaining crew spots will go to scouts first then additional adult leaders.
A deposit check of $250 will be due to Mrs. Ehnle by 9/28/2020 if you sign up for Swampbase. (This is non-refundable)
Your Final Payment of $450 is due to the troop treasurer (Mrs. Ehnle by 2/14)
