Event Description:
Scouts (and adults!) please show your interest in participating in the planning committee (joint with Morton Troop 178) for the 2019 Klondike Derby by signing up via the form below.

This sign up is to get a list of people who are interested in helping plan this event. It is a fun event and a great experience, so we hope you'll join us in planning it!

This is an outstanding opportunity to co-hosting the this season's Klondike Derby. As you might imagine, there is a lot of preparation that needs to go into an event like this, so in the past we have formed a committee of Scouts and adults to help plan the details. We are looking for several Scouts and adults to be on a committee that will probably meet once per month November through December and for one Saturday in January prior to the Klondike derby. Some things the committee will work on:
* Choosing the overall theme and designing the commemorative patch * Developing the stations that the Scouts will visit during the Klondike * Creating the overall program including awards, points scoring, etc. The Klondike Derby is a fantastic event. ASM Rose says it's the best event on the annual calendar! Mr. Hayes will likely also agree! When hosting, we will be staying in the large OA Lodge at Camp Wokanda and will get to supervise and run the program. For Scouts and adults alike this is a great chance to learn about putting on a larger Boy Scout event and enjoy a fun winter camping event from the comfort of the OA lodge. If you haven't considered participating in Klondike in the past, this is a great way to do it--see what it's like while learning the process. Adults: if you are interested but unsure about the time commitment and overnight, consider signing-up for the event and coming out just for the day.
Thanks!

First Meeting:
Thursday, November 15th, starting at 7:00 PM
Morton United Methodist Church, 420 N Tennessee Ave, Morton, IL
